The University Botanic Gardens, as a partner in the „Big Picnic: the Big Issues” Project, organize Traveling Exhibitions developed around the “urban agriculture” topic.
On September 1 and 2 of 2017 in the Botanic Garden in Sofia will be held the first exhibition in which there will be presented and demonstrated opportunities to grow edible plant species in an urban environment. Citizens and visitors in the capital city will become acquainted with little known edible plants and forgotten traditional cultures that can be grown in this country.
On September 1, Friday, starting at 5:00 PM, there will take place different interactive demonstrations, culinary challenges, thematic discussions, and exchange of experience. Participation is subject to pre-enrolment at e-mail ubg_sofia@abv.bg. We invite all who want to take part to bring a favorite recipe of theirs of a seasonal dish prepared with products grown in Bulgaria.
Especially for the children of the guests of the Ботаник Просеко парти (Botanic Proseco Party), organized jointly with the Spensierato on the 2 of September there will be short botanic classes dedicated to the study of different parts of the plants usually found on our tables.
