Dendrochilum glumaceum is a species from the Orchidaceae family, originated from the Philippines where found at elevations of 500 to 2300 meters. They are small or medium sized orchids growing on trees and rocks. The species form groups of conical to ovoid pseudobulbs, from which elliptic or rounded single leaves come out. Flowering is in the spring when the orchid forms up to (12") 30 cm long inflorescences consisting of small and aromatic flowers arranged in 2 rows.
The beautiful orchid is in blossom and can be seen in the tropical greenhouse of UBG - Sofia.
